Engineered for Terrain

Ground Screws SEQ supplies and installs civil ground screws across South East Queensland, supporting civil contractors, landscapers and fencing contractors with systems adaptable to different site and structural requirements. Civil applications include:

  • Fencing: Footings for boundary, security and council fencing.
  • Retaining Walls: Support for retaining walls on sloping sites.
  • Landscaping Structures: Footings for shade, garden and public landscaping structures.
  • Structural Applications: Engineered footings for other civil and infrastructure works.

Ground screws are particularly suited to sloping, restricted-access and difficult terrain, minimising excavation and spoil on sites where concrete is impractical. Request a quote online to discuss your civil project.

Sensitive Site Solutions

Civil and landscaping projects often take place in public spaces, parklands and environmentally sensitive areas where ground disturbance needs to be kept to a minimum. Traditional concrete footings require excavation, spoil removal and site access for concrete delivery, all of which can affect surrounding vegetation, root zones and finished surfaces.

Ground screws minimise excavation and spoil, reducing the footprint of works on site. Our hydraulic and handheld equipment can access sloping and restricted areas without extensive site preparation. At the end of a structure's life, ground screws can be removed and the steel recycled, supporting a lower-impact approach to civil works.

FAQ

  • Can ground screws be used for retaining walls?

Ground screws can provide footing support for retaining walls and landscaping structures, particularly on sloping or restricted-access sites. Their suitability depends on the wall height, the loads involved and the ground conditions. For structural retaining walls, engineering review and sign-off are required, with Form 15/16 certification coordinated through our partner engineers where applicable. We confirm the requirements for each project during site assessment and scope confirmation.

  • Are ground screws suitable for difficult ground conditions?

Ground screws are adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions, and sizes from approximately 800mm to 2000mm+ are available to suit different requirements. Every project begins with a site assessment and soil review to understand the ground conditions before a product is recommended. Where required, engineering review and load testing help confirm the specification. If the conditions on your site call for a different approach, we will tell you during the assessment stage.

  • What types of fencing can ground screws support?

Ground screws can support a range of fencing applications, including boundary, security and council fencing. The OS-Series is an open-section design suited to posts, poles and fencing, providing secure fixing without concrete. Because excavation is minimal, ground screws are particularly useful along sloping boundaries, in sensitive areas and where spoil removal is difficult. The right product and spacing are confirmed based on the fence type, height and site conditions.
